Bloomin’ Brands Legal Team Achieves Diversity Certification For Second Time
The Mansfield Rule Certification demonstrates the team’s commitment to ensure equal opportunity and access to leadership roles
TAMPA, Fla. (Dec. 7, 2023) – The Bloomin’ Brands, Inc. (BLMN) legal department has received the legal industry’s most rigorous diversity recognition - the Mansfield Rule certification – for second consecutive time. The certification is committed to increasing diversity by broadening the pool of women, LGBTQ+, lawyers with disabilities, and racial/ethnic minority lawyers who are considered for internal job openings and promotions, as well as outside counsel representation.
“This certification holds us accountable to our commitment to diversity and inclusion,” said Kelly Lefferts, Bloomin Brands Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and and Secretary. “It’s resulted in changes to our hiring process so that the door opens wider to include people of all backgrounds and I’m pleased at the progress we’ve made.”
To obtain the certification, the company committed to consider at least 50% historically underrepresented lawyers for 70% or more of leadership roles and outside counsel assignments.
